The complexity of urban roads determines that all-weather ranging and identification of all types of obstacles must be achieved, which places higher requirements on the AEB solution applied to urban buses.

Currently, AEB sensing solutions use the fusion of monocular or binocular stereo vision and millimeter wave radar as the mainstream configuration. However, the monocular plus millimeter wave radar solution has poor detection capabilities for non-standard obstacles (pedestrians holding umbrellas, children, express delivery vehicles, etc.), dangerous obstacles, and lateral pedestrians.

The drivable area detection sensor based on parallax technology can detect various types of standard and non-standard obstacles, road potholes, undulations, etc., and provide L0~L3 intelligent driving 3D stereo vision solutions for public transportation.
System Composition
System Composition
The Bus AEB active safety system is mainly composed of a domain controller, a forward binocular camera, an early warning display, an actuator, a millimeter wave radar (optional), and an ultrasonic radar (optional).
The Bus AEB active safety system of Smarter Eye fully complies with vehicle/industrial regulations and has been mass-produced and assembled on commercial vehicles. The ranging accuracy within 50 meters is better than 3%, and the ranging accuracy within 100 meters is better than 5%. Product design meets the following regulations:

"JT/T 1242-2019 Performance Requirements and Testing Procedures for Automatic Emergency Braking Systems of Commercial Vehicles"
"GB/T 38186-2019 Commercial vehicle automatic emergency braking system (AEBS) performance requirements and test methods"
"T/CSIA 001-2019 Commercial Vehicle Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEBS) Aftermarket Technical Specifications and Performance Test Requirements"
Application case
The application of bus AEB system has entered a stage of rapid growth, and batch installation has been achieved on buses in 30 cities across China.
